Litchfield is best visited in the Northern Territory’s dry season. This is generally May to October but it is best to visit in the middle of this time. This allows for attractions to become accessible after the wet season.
There are plenty of things to see and do in Litchfield national park. You can start out by visiting the lost city. A series of sandstones that tower above and resemble a lost city. There’s a 10 kilometre dirt track to explore.
The Iconic magnetic termite mounds are up to 100 years old and are unique to Northern parts of Australia. A boardwalk with information is available to allow you close access to these towering structures. Some are as tall as 4 metres.
