Visiting Cairns and it’s surrounding attractions is a must do for any traveller on the east coast of australia. There’s plenty to tick off your bucket list here with adrenalin activities like sky diving, white water rafting or bungy jumping that will get your heart pumping.
Explorers can tick off plenty as well with the lush tropical rainforest areas of the Atherton tablelands and Cape Tribulation. Also we can’t forget snorkelling or scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef of course!
Ok there’s alot to do but we’ll try and pack it into a few short paragraph breakdowns for you.
First up we’ll sort out the adrenaline junkies. Get your fix by jumping out of a plane at 14,000 feet for an epic skydive or if you don’t wanna go quite that high you can Bungy jump! If you haven’t had your fix yet why not try your hand at white water rafting,The list goes on and on!
For the adventurers in us there’s plenty to see and do as well. Let’s tick the big one off the list first and visit the Great Barrier Reef on a one day trip. Add on a scuba dive for the ultimate immersion experience. Next up let’s have a day of fun visiting the waterfalls of the Atherton tablelands, remember to bring your swimmers!
A couple of hours plus a ferry crossing north of cairns and you’ll find yourself exploring the Daintree Rainforest in Cape Tribulation, a stunning area that’s beauty is beyond words. A bit closer to Cairns is the township of Kuranda, this is best explored using the scenic train and sky-rail as your transportation to and from this fun day-trip.
Enough exploring and you want to relax? Easy, head to the lagoon at Cairns foreshore or one of the northern beaches such as Port Douglas to get in some sun time and soak up some precious vitamin D.
