- Are you starting your tour in Alice Springs? We will collect you from outside your Alice Springs accommodation and head to the first stop of our day tour at Erldunda (home of the Emu) for a buffet breakfast.
- If you’re starting your tour at Ayers Rock Resort, we will collect you from your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation.
- Travel to Kata Tjuta (Olgas) for the first walk of the day into the beautiful Walpa Gorge. Take in the stunning domes of Kata-Tjuta, see the wildflowers (depending on the season), and marvel at the views of the open plains on the return walk.
- Your tour then visits the Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Here, you will have time to learn about the local Pitjantjatjara people and buy souvenirs.
- Built from 90,000 mud bricks, the Cultural Center was created with the help of the local Anangu people. The sacred site it is built on has special meaning to its traditional owners.
- Head to the base of the majestic Uluru (Ayers Rock). From here, your tour guide will take you on a guided Mala walk. Please note that tourists are no longer permitted to climb Uluru due to its cultural significance.
- The Mala Walk follows the north-west side of Uluru, where you will see many fascinating examples of Anangu rock art. Along the way, your guide will tell the ancient stories of the Anangu people.
- Travel by coach to the back section of Uluru and start a guided walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole.
- Your guide will take you along a short track to the waterhole, home of an ancestral water snake called Wanampi. You’ll hear stories of local traditions and learn how the Anangu people traditionally used the waterhole for hunting. The caves containing rock art were used in the past by the Anangu people, whose ancestors are still alive today.
- This is an unforgettable Australian experience and something everyone should visit Uluru for at least once in their lives.
- Take in a breathtaking Uluru sunset with a glass of bubbly (or BYO beer) and a delicious Aussie BBQ dinner.

- We then make the return journey to Alice Springs and drop off those passengers finishing their tour at Alice Springs Accommodation.

We request that you please read over the following Terms and Conditions before booking one of our Tours, Transfers or Private Charters. These Terms and Conditions apply to any booking made by a Customer (you, your, their, they) with Emu Run Experience (us, we, our). The Terms and Conditions are available on our website and our booking platform, and they are sent via email upon completion of booking or by request. If a booking is made by you, Emu Run Experience accepts you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions stated below.
1. Cancellation, Refund and Change Policy
Cancellation by Customer
The Customer may cancel the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter and will receive the following refund:
Day Tours & Uluru Transfers
- 4 days or more prior to the day of departure: your payment will be refunded less an admin fee of $20
- Within 3 days of the day of departure: reservation is non-refundable but the amount will be kept as credits valid until the end of the current season (season begins 1 April and ends 31 March the following year).
Private Charters and Transfers
- 30 days or more prior to the day of departure: the Deposit of 25% is non-refundable. The remainder of the full amount less the Deposit and any administration costs will be refunded.
- Within 30 days of the day of departure: no refund will be provided but the amount will be kept as credits valid for 12 months from the start of the booked dates.
*The administration costs include: fees that may be levied by third party operators providing their services in conjunction with the Private Charter, bank fees, credit card fees, booking fees and other costs associated with delivering the Private Charter or returning your money to you.
In any event if a Customer fails to join a Tour, Transfer or Private Charter, or leaves for any reason prior to completion, no refund of any kind can be made.
Changes by Customer
Date change
Changes to the date of your Tour, Transfer or Private Charter can be made at no extra cost when made outside of the cancellation period stipulated in Cancellation by Customer above, but can only be made once per booking. Bookings can only be changed by contacting Emu Run Experience directly via email.
Itinerary change
The Customer must notify Emu Run Experience at least 7 days prior to the proposed departure date, in writing, if an alteration to the Private Charter itinerary of any kind is required.
A fee per person per change may apply in Emu Run Experience’s sole discretion, in addition to any charges levied by other third party operators providing services in conjunction with the Private Charter.
Cancellation by Emu Run Experience
Emu Run Experience reserves the right to cancel a Tour, Transfer or Private Charter at any time before departure and may cancel a trip due to terrorism, natural disasters, weather concerns, political instability, pandemic/epidemic or other external events it is not viable to operate the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter in our discretion.
If we cancel the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter you may transfer amounts paid to an alternate Tour/Transfer/Private Charter at our discretion or alternatively receive a full refund of the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter price.
In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control, refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs already incurred for the Customer.
Emu Run Experience is not responsible for any incidental expenses incurred as a result of cancellation of a Tour/Transfer/Private Charter including but not limited to travel to join the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter, accommodation or other fees payable to third party operators providing services in conjunction with the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter.
Changes by Emu Run Experience
Itinerary change
Emu Run Experience reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary of a Tour/Transfer/Private Charter and arrange alternative carriers if necessary. We will ensure the service or experience we substitute will be of an equivalent standard for you to enjoy. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
2. Prices
All fees and charges are payable in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of GST.
3. Contract and Acceptance
Public Tours and Transfers
Acceptance of the Agreement for Scheduled Tours and Transfers is made on completion of a booking and payment.
Private Charters
Acceptance of the Agreement for Private Charters is made when the Customer provides an email stating their acceptance of the Private Charter Quote & Itinerary; and payment of the deposit or full payment is received. However, instructing, inducing or permitting us to confirm or commence the Private Charter will also be deemed acceptance.
The Private Charter Quote & Itinerary includes an outline of the nature of the Private Charter and a detailed itinerary of the times and duration of the tour, the deposit payable and the total fees payable for the Private Charter. If the Customer requests any changes outside the scope of the Private Charter booking after it is accepted or confirmed, extra costs may be applicable in accordance with the Cancellation Policy set out in these Terms and Conditions.
If the Customer books the Private Charter on behalf of other guests, they will be the Responsible Person for ensuring each guest attending the Private Charter is provided a copy of these Terms and Conditions. They must provide each person’s full name before the Private Charter departs. The Private Charter will not proceed, and no person will be permitted entry to the Private Charter vehicle, until this has occurred.
If the Responsible Person will not or cannot travel with the Private Charter for any reasons, another Responsible Person must be nominated by you and fully accept the responsibility for the Private Charter Booking, which will be deemed to have been re-made in that new person’s name. You agree not to leave the Private Charter before returning to the drop-off point set out in the Private Charter Booking without the express permission of us.
If at any time the number of guests falls below any minimum set by Emu Run Experience, the Private Charter may be cancelled. The Customer may choose to pay the full minimum amount and proceed with the Private Charter with less people or for less time.
By accepting the Terms and Conditions, the Customer warrants that he or she is at least eighteen (18) years of age with full capacity to accept these Terms and Conditions. Where Terms and Conditions are accepted by a parent, guardian or person for or on behalf of Customer, the person warrants he or she has full authority to do so and agrees to indemnify Emu Run Experience in terms of the indemnity contained below. Adult supervision must be provided for any under 18 guests as instructed by us, dependent on the number of under 18 guests.
Public Tours & Transfers and Private Charters
A Tour, Transfer or Private Charter will not proceed unless the minimum number of quests required by Emu Run Experience is confirmed. Customers will be notified as soon as possible or at least 24 hours prior to the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter and an alternative date will be selected if you have booked a Public Tour/Transfer only.
4. Payment Terms
Public Tours and Transfers
- Single seat bookings for scheduled advertised tours/transfers online on the Emu Run Experience website
- A variety of tours/transfers are listed on the website and priced per person
Public Tours/Transfers are payable in full via a secure online booking system on the Emu Run Experience website or by phone. Payments can be made using a credit card.
A credit card surcharge of 1% is charged on all bookings.
The goods and services included in each Tour/Transfer are stipulated online.
Private Charters
- Bookings for 1 to 100+ people
- The whole vehicle and driver/guide is booked for the group only
- The dates are selected by the Customer, based on availability
- Prices are quoted based on the number of passengers
- Itineraries are created in consultation with the Customer and customised for each group
The Private Charter Quote & Itinerary, sent to the Customer, outlines the method of payment and total fees to be paid. A non-refundable Deposit of 25% of the total booking value is to be paid for all Private Charters to secure the booking. A tax invoice will be provided to the Customer by email and payment must be made within 7 days.
The remainder of the total booking amount must be paid no less than 30 days from the date of departure. A reminder email and invoice will be sent to the Customer for the remainder of the booking amount for payment.
Payments are accepted via bank transfer on receipt of a valid tax invoice by Emu Run Experience. A remittance advice must be emailed to Emu Run Experience as proof of payment. Customers must include the invoice number, name and the date of the Private Charter in the description when remitting the payment.
If a booking is made 30 days or less before the date of departure, the Private Charter must be paid in full immediately, to secure the booking. An invoice will be provided to the Customer by email and payment must be made on the same day.
If a payment is not received within the specified period of time on the Private Charter Quote/Itinerary and Invoice, the Private Charter may be cancelled. The Customer will be notified by email about the cancellation and will forfeit any deposit paid.
It is the Customer’s sole responsibility to ensure we receive payment in cleared funds prior to the due date for payment.
Private Charter payments made by credit card attract a 1.7% surcharge.
Extra Costs payable – Private Charters
The goods and services included in each Private Charter are stipulated in the Private Charter Quote & Itinerary. The Customer must pay for all extra goods and services above and beyond what is outlined in the Private Charter Quote & Itinerary. The Customer will pay the third party service provider directly.
5. Customer Code of Conduct
Every person on an Emu Run Experience operated service must adhere to the Customer Code of Conduct below:
- Smoking is not permitted on the vehicle or throughout the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter at any location where smoking is prohibited.
- Anti-social behaviour and intoxication creating disturbance to other guests or the Emu Run Experience driver/guide will not be tolerated and the Customer may be evicted at the discretion of the driver/guide.
- If you choose to leave the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter at any time before arriving at the final drop off point, you must inform the Emu Run Experience driver/guide before departing. Transport and other costs from an early departure are at a cost to you, not Emu Run Experience.
- Guests are to remain seated and wear a seat belt (where fitted) when the vehicle is in motion.
- Any damage made to the vehicle will be at a cost to the Customer responsible.
- No changes can be made to the itinerary once the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter has departed.
- Personal items including electronic devices are the sole responsibility of the Customer.
- Customers must wear shoes at all times, and we advise to wear a hat and sunscreen.
- Customer will be solely responsible to bring any essential or recommended items on the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter, as notified by us
- Tour/Transfer/Private Charter vehicles have limited luggage space and the Customer must limit baggage to a minimum.
- The driver/guide is in charge of making decisions in relation to the safety and wellbeing of the group. Any Customer who does not comply with the decisions made by the driver/guide or acts in a manner where they may interfere with the safety or wellbeing of others in the group may be asked to leave the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter. Transport and other costs from an early departure are at a cost to you, not Emu Run Experience.
- You will visit places where dangers and challenges will be greater than those present in daily lives. There may be a higher degree of personal risk due to participation on the tour. You acknowledge and accept that your decision to travel on our tour is made in light of consideration of this and you are aware of the personal risks involved.
- You are responsible for informing your guide/driver if you have a complaint about your trip so that they have the opportunity to rectify the matter. If the matter is not resolved, you can contact Emu Run Experience via email after the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter.
It is the Customer’s sole responsibility to be aware of the requirements of the Code of Conduct at all times. You must adhere to and abide by the Code of Conduct and any failure of any kind to do so may result in your being removed from the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter, or the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter being cancelled. Emu Run Experience may determine in its sole discretion if any such a failure has occurred, at no liability to us.
If a Customer is asked to leave the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter, they will be solely responsible for their own transport and conduct from the place of disembarkation, which will be deemed to be the conclusion of their Tour/Transfer/Private Charter and no refund will be available for any part of the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter that has not been completed. Emu Run Experience is not liable after a disembarkation.
6. Tour Requirements
Special Dietary Requirements and Food Allergies
We provide healthy quality meals, where specified in the itinerary. We are able to cater for one of the following special dietary requirements upon request: vegetarian, gluten free or dairy free. If you have a food allergy (eg peanuts) please advise at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to carry any necessary allergy medication with you on tour.
Age and Fitness Level Requirements
All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will be responsible for their care. 4 Day Outback Escape – the minimum age is 16. All other tours have a minimum age requirement of 2. We have no upper age limit on our tours, although some trips can be physically demanding and it is important to note that Central Australia experience’s extreme weather conditions during summer.
7. Photos and Video
You agree that all photos and videos taken of you on a Tour/Transfer/Private Charter can be used for marketing or promotional purposes by Emu Run Experience. You grant us permission to use the images and footage royalty free for marketing and promotional purposes worldwide.
8. Departure point and time
Scheduled Tours and Transfers
The departure points for Public Tours and Transfers are dependent on the type of Tour/Transfer booked. You will be given an option of departure point to choose when making your booking.
Once you have made a booking you will receive communications from us advising you of your estimated pick up time and confirmed location.
We reserve the right to change the departure point or time, up until 24 hours before the departure time. We will notify you via email of the changes and specify the new location and time to meet.
At the designated time of your collection, we expect you to be waiting for the vehicle, as we have strict timelines to follow and have others on the Tour/Transfer to consider. If you are not at the departure point, we will attempt to contact you. If we are not able to get in touch with you, the vehicle will continue on it’s journey.
Private Charters
The departure points are confirmed and stated on the Itinerary.
The Customer must notify Emu Run Experience at least 7 days prior to the proposed departure date, in writing, if a departure point is changed. A fee per person per change may apply in Emu Run Experience sole discretion, in addition to any changes levied by other third party operators providing services in conjunction with the Private Charter.
9. Client Information
Names of all passengers must be provided to Emu Run Experience, including both first and last name.
All information provided by you must be provided in a timely manner when requested by us, including personal information provided at booking or as otherwise requested verbally or in writing by us at any time. Failure to provide any requested information may result in delay or cancellation of the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
The Customer warrants that any and all information it supplied is true and accurate and without limiting the terms of these Terms and Conditions, the Customer indemnifies Emu Run Experience for any losses incurred in any way (including by negligence) as a result of the breach of this warranty.
10. Privacy and Security
Your privacy is important to Emu Run Experience. Any personal information we collect about you may be used for any purpose associated with the operation of your Tour/Transfer/Private Charter, and to send you marketing material in relation to special offers or events. Emu Run Experience may disclose information to our agents, suppliers or service providers to enable us to operate your tour. We will not sell, trade or otherwise transfer the information you have supplied to us. We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information.
11. Limitation of Liability
Third Parties
Emu Run Experience does not accept responsibility or liability if any third party, including police or council personnel ask us or the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter vehicle to move without allowing disembarkation of guests, as compliance with local laws and regulations is out of our control.
Emu Run Experience assumes no responsibility for any act of negligence, act or omission whatsoever by any third party whose services are used as part of the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter provided, including but not limited to venues, establishments or premises, activity and accommodation providers.
Travel Insurance
The Customer acknowledges and agrees that travel insurance is not included in the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter and it is your sole responsibility to take out travel insurance which covers personal liability and injury of any kind, cancellation, loss of luggage and personal effects and medical insurance.
Changes due to delays, alteration or curtailment
Notwithstanding the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter schedule, which we will make all reasonable efforts to adhere to, inclusions and arrangements may be changed without notice due to circumstances outside of our reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to traffic congestion, inclement weather conditions, client delays or any other delays. In that event you will not receive a refund and Emu Run Experience will assume no liability for such changes.
Loss of time or any resulting personal expenses or entry fees incurred as a result of delays, alteration or curtailment of a Tour, Transfer or Private Charter, whether caused by mechanical defects, flooding, civil commotion, riots, terrorism, driver mistakes or any other cause, are the responsibility of the Customer. If additional expense is incurred for taxis or other transport you agree not to make a claim against Emu Run Experience and release us fully from any such expense, loss or liability.
Vehicle or itinerary change
In the event of a breakdown or other mechanical defect, or if for any other reason the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter vehicle cannot be used during a Tour, Transfer or Private Charter, Emu Run Experience reserves the right to substitute the vehicle in its discretion to ensure operation of the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter. We assume no liability or responsibility, including for any delays or changes to the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter that may result, and will not be required to provide a refund if a substituted vehicle is provided.
All aspects of the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter vehicle, including without limit all air conditioning, windows, seats, seatbelts, amplifiers and speakers, are checked prior to departure for the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter, but should these fail in any way during the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter, we will endeavour to repair or replace them during the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter, bearing in mind that continuation of the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter is paramount provided there is no safety risk to guests or passengers. In any event it is agreed that these elements are not essential to the Tour/Transfer/Private Charter and we are not liable in any way for any failure, or to repair or replace them in any way.
Emu Run Experience reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary of a Tour, Transfer or Private Charter and arrange alternative carriers if necessary. No refunds will be given in these circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be held liable for any damage, injury, or loss of any kind caused by or resulting from any act or omission by its employees, agents or contractors.
Private Charters
Without limiting anything in these Terms and Conditions, the Customer acknowledges and agrees Emu Run Experience provides the Private Charter at the direction and pursuant to the instructions or requirements from you. Notwithstanding any act or omission by us, including negligence in relation to any activities conducted during the Private Charter, whether conducted by Emu Run Experience, you or others, the Customer accepts all risk in relation to the Private Charter and releases and forever discharges Emu Run Experience from all and any loss, damage or liability (including indirect, special, punitive, exemplary or consequential losses) arising in relation thereto. This includes any claim by a third party arising out of or relating to the Private Charter or from any delay in completion or delivery of the Private Charter, for any reason whatsoever and will indemnify and hold harmless Emu Run Experience from and against all loss, damage or liability, except to the extent any legislation applies and cannot be excluded. This clause applies on creation of the Private Charter Booking by Emu Run Experience for the Customer, is a continuing separate obligation and survives termination.
12. Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Emu Run Experience makes no warranties or guarantees of any kind, express or implied, relating to work or services including in relation to the Tour, Transfer or Private Charter, including for Tour/Transfer/Private Charter activities conducted. Emu Run Experience’s liability for any claim or action is limited to replacement of goods, supply of equivalent goods or services or payment of the cost of so replacing or supplying goods, or payment of the cost of resupplying those services.
13. General
If either party fails to do anything it is entitled to under these Terms and Conditions that does not amount to a waiver of that right. Any waiver or variation must be in writing. If any clause or part of a clause hereof is illegal or unenforceable, that clause or part is to be treated as removed here-from, but the rest of these Terms and Conditions is not affected. Any references to a party include their agents, officers, employees or assigns.
Emu Run Experience reserves the right to update and/or alter the Terms and Conditions and fine print at any time. It is your responsibility to be familiar with the most up to date Terms and Conditions that are available on our website.
