🛣️ Perth to Broome
This is the big one. Coastal towns like Geraldton and Kalbarri, the otherworldly Pinnacles Desert, snorkeling heaven in Coral Bay and Exmouth, and the deep red gorges of Karijini National Park. Finish up in Broome with its iconic Cable Beach sunsets. This route has a bit of everything—coast, outback, marine life, and jaw-dropping landscapes.
🍷 Margaret River Scenic Drive
Chill vibes, wine, surf, and forest walks. Cruise through Margaret River, Dunsborough, and Yallingup. Sip world-class wines, explore massive limestone caves, and laze on white sand beaches. It’s laid-back luxury mixed with natural beauty.
🌄 Pinnacles Desert Detour

🌵 Nullarbor Plain Crossing

Just remember to read the terms and conditions in your rental agreement from the Campervan/Motorhome/4WD company you have hired. We, Cheap Az Travel, are your travel agent, but the rental terms and conditions of the hire and set by each individual Vehicle Company. Most companies do not cover driving on unsealed roads in their insurance. There will always be some unsealed roads on the way in and around caravan parks, but most companies will allow for that.
In Karijini National Park, Oxer Lookout can be accessed by a sealed road called Karijini Drive. This road is 85 km each way, with only a short section of dirt road leading to the car park. Additionally, the drive into Karijini National Park to the visitor center, Dales Gorge, and the Karijini Eco Retreat are also sealed. Make sure when planning your trip you look into all the sealed and unsealed roads.
Rough Plan 2 Weeks Perth to Perth Northern Trip
Day 1–2: Perth to Lancelin (approx. 130 km / 2 hrs)
Kick off your adventure by heading north to Lancelin, a relaxed coastal town known for its massive sand dunes and great surf.
Spend your time sandboarding, swimming, and settling into the road trip vibes.
Day 3–4: Lancelin to Cervantes via Pinnacles (approx. 125 km / 1.5 hrs)
Drive up to Cervantes and check out the Pinnacles Desert—an unreal limestone landscape right out of another planet.
Wander through the Pinnacles, visit Thirsty Point Lookout, and maybe pop into Jurien Bay for a swim or snorkel.
Day 5–6: Cervantes to Geraldton (approx. 200 km / 2.5 hrs), then to Kalbarri (approx. 155 km / 1.75 hrs)
Head to Geraldton for a mix of beaches, art, and maritime history. Then continue to Kalbarri National Park for hikes to Nature’s Window and Hawks Head Lookout, plus epic gorges and river views.
Day 7–8: Kalbarri to Monkey Mia / Shark Bay (approx. 400 km / 4.5–5 hrs)
Travel further north into the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. Don’t miss Monkey Mia—seeing the dolphins here is an absolute highlight.
Explore the area, including the wild landscapes of Francois Peron National Park.
Day 9–10: Shark Bay to Coral Bay (approx. 580 km / 6.5–7 hrs)
Big drive today, but Coral Bay is worth it. Right on the Ningaloo Reef, you can snorkel straight off the beach or take a tour to swim with manta rays and turtles.
Day 11–12: Coral Bay to Exmouth (approx. 150 km / 2 hrs)
Short drive to Exmouth—your launch pad to explore Cape Range National Park and the Ningaloo Coast. Visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse and hike Yardie Creek or Charles Knife Canyon.
Day 13–14: Exmouth to Karijini National Park (approx. 640 km / 7–8 hrs)
Head inland to the stunning gorges of Karijini. Swim in natural rock pools, hike through canyons like Hancock and Weano, and soak up the raw beauty of this unique outback park.
Day 15: Karijini to Perth (approx. 1,240 km / 13–14 hrs)
Time to head back south. It’s a long drive, so consider an overnight stop along the way before finishing up in Perth and dropping off your campervan.
